Administration
The San Juan County Fire Department Administration is located in the Fire Operations Center at 209 South Oliver Drive, Aztec, New Mexico 87410. The San Juan County Fire Department Administration assists in coordinating basic training and also equipping firefighters with the proper personal protective clothing for all 14 Fire Districts. The San Juan County Fire Department Administration also acts as a liaison between the 14 Fire Districts and other regional fire departments, public safety agencies, and other county departments
Doug Hatfield - Fire Chief

The San Juan County Fire Chief oversees the San Juan Cunty Fire Department and the Fire Operations Center. The Fire Chief is in charge of all mutual aid agreements both within and outside of San Juan County. The Fire Chief also acts as a liaison between the San Juan County Fire Department and the Executiive Officers of San Juan County including the San Juan County Commission.
Craig Daugherty - Deputy Chief

The Deputy Fire Chief oversees the entire budget for the San Juan County Fire Department and the Fire Operations Center. The Deputy Fire Chief reviews and submits all specifications for new fire apparatus. Reviews and submits all plans for new fire stations or renovations.
Chris Cardin - Fire Marshal

The Fire Marshal is tasked with the day to day fire code enforcement of San Juan County. Conducts daily fire inspections and plans review. Is the lead fire investigator for the San Juan County Fire Department and is a member of the San Juan County Joint Fire and Explosion Investigation Task Force.
David Yows - Captain Information Technologies 
Oversees all software upgrades for the San Juan County Fire Department. Maintains and services all computers. Is the NFIRS (National Fire Incident Reporting System) coordinator for the San Juan County Fire Department. Is a member of the San Juan County Joint Fire and Explosion Investigation Task Force. Assists the 14 Fire Districts, Fire Chief, and Deputy Fire Chief whenever necessary and responds to emergency calls.
Chris Shay - Captain Training Coordinator

Coordinates and develops procedures to properly train emergency response personnel in the fire department, including fire suppression, incident management, EMS, hazardous materials, and fire prevention based on state and national standards. Maintains training records and reports for activities provided by the fire department. Assures outside contractors and instructors provide effective and pertinent training. Assures training equipment and facilities are properly maintained. Evaluates individuals for compliance with state and county training requirements. Assists with fire inspections when necessary. Assists the 14 Fire Districts, Fire Chief, and Deputy Fire Chief whenever necessary and responds to emergency calls.
Laura Hensley - Captain EMS Coordinator

The Captain EMS Coordinator coordinates and develops procedures to properly train emergency response personnel in EMS procedures. Conducts EMS courses and continuing education classes to train and retrain San Juan County Fire Department personnel in all aspects of fire department EMS response based on State and National Standards. The EMS Coordinator is responsible for maintaining training records and reports, assuring that outside contractors and instructors provide effective and pertinent training, and assuring that all EMS training equipment and facilities are properly maintained and inventoried. The EMS Coordinator also evaluates individuals for compliance with State and County training requirements.
David Vega - Captain Wildland Coordinator

The Wildland Coordinator under the supervision of the Fire Chief, coordinates and actively markets wildland fire activities including training procedures, deployment capabilities, wildland fire prevention, mitigation, and investigation. The Wildland Coordinator acts as the liaison between the San Juan County Fire Department and the EMNRD as well as BLM and the US Forest Service.
Marie Jones - Office Assistant III

Tracks and maintains all volunteer training and membership information for the 14 Fire Districts. Conducts annual background checks on all volunteers and office staff. Assists with New Member Orientation's. Acts as the Fire Chief Association's recording secretary. Processes PERA Annual reports. Assists with burn permits and fire reports. Issues ID Badges and assists with bunker gear if needed.
