50 Years of Dedicated Service to San Juan County

San Juan County Fire Department District 3 (Cedar Hill) was started by the local farmers in the community dating back to April 6, 1958, with most of the construction of the single bay brick stone station being done in 1959. All of the materials and labor were provided by the community. There were a few additions made through the years before it was repalced in 1981 with the station that resides there today.

Currently District 3 responds to over 230 emergency calls per year. District 3 covers an area of 121 square miles with nine pieces of apparatus and approximately 28 volunteer firefighers operating out of 2 stations.
