District 10

24 Years of Dedicated Service to San Juan County

San Juan County Fire Department, District 10, Navajo Dam is located 7.5 miles from the second largest lake in New Mexico. District 10 was established in 1985 with meetings being held in a members garage and training held at District 5. They started with one old fire truck housed at the state parks shop. In 1986 Abe and Patsy Chavez donated land for the department building to be built at its present location.

District 10 covers an area of 238 square miles with five pieces of apparatus and approximately 7 volunteers out of one station located on NM Hwy 511, east of Bloomfield and Aztec, NM.

District 10 serves San Juan County citizens along NM Hwy 511 and Nm Hwy 173, as well as tourists visiting Navajo Lake and the well known Quality Waters of the San Juan River.

District 10 provides mutual aid support to District 5 & 7,a s well as to Los Pinos Fire in Colorado.
